TRS Panch Puren is a traditional five-spice blend that brings an authentic burst of flavour and aroma to your cooking. This 100g mix combines whole cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds, mustard seeds, fennel seeds, and nigella seeds (black cumin), creating a perfectly balanced and versatile spice blend.

A staple in Bengali cuisine and widely used across Indian kitchens, Panch Puren enhances a variety of dishes, including curries, dals, vegetables, rice preparations, and even breads. Its unique combination of spices delivers a rich and complex flavour profile that adds depth and character to every meal.

Commonly used for tempering (tadka), the spices are gently fried in oil to release their natural oils and full aroma before being added to a dish. Each spice plays an important role: cumin provides warm nuttiness, mustard seeds add mild sharpness, fenugreek brings earthy bitterness, fennel offers subtle sweetness, and nigella contributes a delicate peppery note. For Vegetable Stir-Fries:
Add the spice blend to hot oil at the beginning of cooking, then toss in chopped vegetables for a flavourful Bengali-style dish.

For Lentils (Dal):
Prepare your dal as usual, then pour a hot tempering of Panch Puren and oil over the top before serving for enhanced aroma and taste.

For Fish or Meat Curries:
Use Panch Puren in hot oil at the start of cooking to build a rich, authentic base flavour.

As a Finishing Touch:
Lightly toast the spices and sprinkle them over cooked dishes to add extra depth and crunch.
